Terms of service
The agreement between you and CityBoyMail. Plain language, no traps.
Last updated September 2026
By creating an account or using CityBoyMail you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Your account
You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password secure. Tell us immediately at security@cityboymail.com if you believe it has been compromised.
One person or organisation per account. Creating multiple accounts to accumulate names is username squatting and is grounds for suspension.
Names
Claiming a name grants you the exclusive right to use that address on cityboymail.com while your account is in good standing. It does not transfer ownership of the underlying domain, and it is not a trademark grant.
Specifically:
- Names are claimed first come, first served, subject to our classification rules.
- We reserve operational addresses (postmaster, abuse, and similar) permanently. This is required to run a mail service responsibly.
- We may refuse or reclaim a name that impersonates a person, brand or institution, or that is used for fraud.
- Closing your account releases your names back into inventory.
- Premium names are sold as a one-time purchase unless the listing states a renewal. If a renewal applies, it is shown before you pay.
Inactivity
A free account with no sign-in and no mail activity for 24 consecutive months may be closed and its names released. We will email you at least 30 days before that happens. Paid accounts are not subject to inactivity release while the subscription is current.
Acceptable use
The Acceptable Use Policy is part of these terms. In short: no spam, no phishing, no harassment, no impersonation, no illegal content, no using our infrastructure to attack anyone.
We enforce it. Accounts that send unsolicited bulk mail or run phishing campaigns are suspended, usually without warning, because the alternative is letting one account poison delivery for everyone else.
Payment
- Subscriptions bill in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- We do not pro-rate partial periods.
- Premium name purchases are final once the name is provisioned, because the name leaves inventory permanently at that moment.
- If we fail to provision an address you paid for, you get a full refund.
- Prices can change. We give at least 30 days' notice before a change affects you.
Service availability
We work to keep the service running and we do not offer a formal uptime guarantee at this stage. We will not claim reliability we have not demonstrated. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that:
- violates the Acceptable Use Policy;
- is being used for fraud, phishing or impersonation;
- has an unresolved payment failure; or
- we are legally required to act on.
Where the situation allows it, we tell you what happened and give you a route to respond. Where it does not — active phishing, for example — we act first. You can appeal any suspension by writing to appeals@cityboymail.com.
You can close your account at any time from your account settings.
Editorial content
Articles on CityBoy are for general information. They are not financial, legal, medical or tax advice, and you should not treat them as a substitute for a professional who knows your situation. Our editorial standards explain how the work is produced and how we disclose commercial relationships.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, CityBoyMail is provided as-is, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account holders before taking effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
